Journey to Confidence
At your consultation, you will initially meet with our patient care team to review your medical history as well as your goals for surgery. You will then meet with your surgeon to discuss the details of the procedure, recovery, and expectations as well as create a surgical plan to achieve natural, youthful results. Please come to the office with no make up, a low collarless shirt and your hair pulled back. Our office staff will provide you with a surgical quote and assist in scheduling a surgery date.
You will have a pre-operative appointment three weeks prior to surgery. At this appointment, you will sign surgical consents, discuss any last minute questions and concerns, get your pre surgery goodie bag and get further pre- and post-surgery instructions. Photos will be taken at this appointment, so please come with no makeup, a low collarless shirt, and your hair pulled back.
You will arrive at our accredited surgery center about an hour before the procedure begins. You will meet with our incredible surgical team to get you comfortable in preparation for your upcoming procedure. The procedure typically takes between 4-6 hours after which you will recover in our post surgical recovery room until your caregiver arrives to pick you up.
After surgery, you may be bandaged from under the chin and around the top of the head. Please leave the bandages intact until you meet with our patient care team the following day. You may have drains placed which are typically removed at your first follow up appointment. Make sure you walk frequently, drink lots of fluids and eat or drink protein to aid in a smooth recovery.
Bruising and swelling will typically start within 1-3 days. Make sure to take your Bromelain and Arnica to minimize the effects of bruising and swelling. You may feel tightness, tingling, and numbness that should start to subside over the next few weeks. Make sure to keep your head elevated, stay hydrated and get plenty of rest to aid in healing.
Once fully healed, you will get to see the results of a natural, smoother neckline and overall improvement in skin tightness and contour in the neck area.

Does a neck lift also address the lower face?
The neck lift procedure will address the loose skin and fat of the neck area as well as platysmal neck bands if needed. A facelift will address the neck, jowls, and lower face.
How do I prepare for a neck lift?
Patients will need to refrain from smoking and all nicotine products 4 weeks prior to surgery. Alcohol should be avoided for up to a week prior to surgery. Starting 2 weeks prior to surgery, patients will need to discontinue NSAIDS such as Ibuprofen and aspirin as well as any other medications that increase bleeding risks. GLP-1 injections should be stopped 2 weeks prior to surgery. Do not start any new medication without letting your physician know. Make sure to maintain a healthy diet rich in protein and drink lots of fluids prior to surgery. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight and follow all the instructions you were given at your preoperative appointment.
How long do the results last?
A necklift typically lasts 10-15 years. Natural aging and gravity continue, but patients can enjoy long-term improvements in the neck area for many years. It is recommended to avoid excessive sun exposure, refrain from smoking, avoid weight fluctuations, and practice good skincare including sunscreen to help maintain long lasting results.
What is recovery like?
Patients should refrain from any strenuous activities, including lifting over 10lbs for 2-3 weeks after necklift surgery. You will notice some mild to moderate bruising and swelling start to develop within the first few days after surgery. You may be instructed to wear a compression wrap day and night for the first 2 weeks and at night for an additional 6 weeks. It is recommended to sleep elevated the first several days after surgery.
Can a neck lift be combined with other procedures?
Some patients may combine the neck lift procedure with Renuvion skin tightening treatment to get additional soft tissue tightening. Renuvion uses helium plasma and radiofrequency to aid in soft tissue contraction. In some cases, patients may want facial rejuvenation such as browlift, facelift, or blepharoplasty surgery done in conjunction with the necklift surgery. Your surgeon will discuss options at your consultation and create a surgical plan to address your concerns.
