What Is A Breast Re-Augmentation?
Breast re-augmentation, or breast implant revision is a procedure to replace or change existing breast implants. The goal of breast re-augmentation is to address concerns from a previous breast augmentation. Some patients may need to replace older implants while others may be concerned about the implant positioning, sagging breast tissue (ptosis), implant rupture, and/or capsular contracture. Some patients opt to do a breast re-augmentation to modify existing breast implant size.

Journey To Confidence
At your consultation, you will meet with our patient care team to review your medical history as well as your goals for surgery. You will then meet with your surgeon to discuss the details of the procedure, recovery and expectations as well as create a surgical plan to restore natural, youthful results. Our office staff will provide you with a surgical quote and assist in scheduling a surgery date.
You will have a pre-operative appointment three weeks prior to surgery. At this appointment, you will sign surgical consents, discuss any last minute questions and concerns, get your pre surgery goodie bag and get further pre- and post-surgery instructions. Photos will be taken at this appointment.
You will arrive at our accreditated surgery center about an hour before the procedure will begin. You will meet with our incredible surgical team that will get you comfortable in preparation for your upcoming procedure. Depending on what is done in surgery, the procedure can take 1-6 hours. You will recover in our post surgical recovery room until your caregiver arrives to pick you up.
After surgery, you may notice some bruising, swelling and inflammation. Make sure you are walking frequently, drinking lots of fluids and getting lots of protein to aid in a smooth recovery.
Bruising and swelling will start within 1-3 days. Make sure to take your Bromelain and Arnica to minimize the effects of bruising and swelling. You may feel tightness, tingling, and numbness that should start to subside over the next couple of weeks. Strenous activity should be avoided for the first 2-8 weeks. It is important to stay hydrated and get plenty of rest to aid in healing.
Breast Re-augmentation surgery often fixes issues like rippling,sagging or capsular contracture leading to more natural results that minimize discomfort. Final results can take up to 6 months as the breasts settle into their optimal position.

Refrain from smoking for a minimum of 4 weeks to avoid wound healing complications. Be sure to arrange a caregiver who can pick you up from surgery and care for you for aT least 24 hours after surgery. Stay hydrated and prepare healthy meals in advance to promote proper healing.
Can my previous scars be improved during a breast re-augmentation?
If a patient is unhappy with previous scars, they can be revised during surgery. Genetics play an important role in healing and scar formation. If a patient tends to keloid there is still a risk it can happen with any scar revision.
